«The Origins Of The Urban Crisis: Race And Inequality In Postwar Detroit» Томаса Джозефа Сагрю (Princeton, 1996 год) была особенно полезна в области истории Детройта; «Have Gun Will Travel» Ронина Ро (Quartet, 1998 год), «A Change Is Gonna Come» Крейга Вернера (Payback, 2000 год) и «Westsiders» Уильяма Шоу (Bloomsbury, 2000 год) очень помогли в том, чтобы поразмыслить о хип-хопе и Эминеме.
